"The passageway to the cove weaved between narrow trails lined with beach cottages, and then a long stairway led down to her secluded retreat. Even now in the fall and winter months, the sun would part the clouds for her to sit and meditate on the ocean’s sandy blanket. This day, Luana spread out her bamboo beach matt and sat cross-legged facing the magnificent sea. She closed her eyes, relaxed her body, and slowly breathed in the salty mist. Her loud deep-toned chanting awakened a flock of seagulls and they dispersed beyond the rocks of the little cove."
